Please be advised of American University’s advanced credit policies for students who come with top scores on certain CAPE exams.
If you are taking CAPE Unit II level exams and score either a 1 or 2 on any of the following subjects, and if you are admitted to AU and join our global community, you will receive advanced standing AND credits for AU level classes as follows:
  • CAPE Biology - 4 credits
  • CAPE Physics - 8 credits
  • CAPE Chemistry - 8 credits
  • CAPE Economics - 6 credits
  • CAPE French - 6 credits
  • CAPE Spanish - 6 credits
  • CAPE Geography - 6 credits
  • CAPE Literature - 3 credits
  • CAPE Mathematics - 4 credits
  • CAPE Art and Design - pending final evaluation and approval

What does this mean for you?
We at AU value the CAPE and education you have received at home. Depending on how many of the above exams you took and your marks, you may be able to graduate in 3.5 years instead of 4 years and save time and expenses.
(NB: Please note that no AU credits will be awarded for Unit I CAPE exams, or CAPE exam results of III, IV or V.)

Kind regards,
